About

I have had a love of wood starting at a very young age. I can remember hauling wood scraps home from the houses they were building around ours, and my dad yelling at us to stop bringing any more of that home. I am amazed at the different grains and all the different woods and the beauty of burl. I’ve worked as an upholsterer, Cad Drafter then as a General Contractor, and back to woodworking. I worked for a while at a furniture factory where I learned a lot about building furniture. So as a Cad drafter I can draw my plans and then build them.

I taught woodworking for women for a while and really enjoyed it. To share your passion with others is very gratifying. The looks on their faces when they complete a project is so worth all the work.

I took a class in bowl turning and then box turning and I was so hooked. When you put a block of wood on the lathe you never know what it’s gonna look like in side. It’s like a treasure hunt. Or like segmented bowls, it’s like quilting with wood. You cut it all up glue it together and then turn it. Then to apply oil and watch the grain pop!! I love wood!!
